We are nothing but a medium so AI can talk to each other.
What are we even doing ? Are we even doing anything ?
I believe it’s time to accept the truth and stop fighting the change.
AI is doing everything !
No need to come up with processes. No need to come up with strategies. No need to come up with “engineering” or “product” workflows.
There is no such thing as human engineering/product workflow anymore.
Just listen to your client and tell it to the AI. Your client has already asked AI what they need and AI has already told them that it’s better to buy vs build and that’s why they are talking to you. The AI already has all the product and engineering context. The AI will come up with product documents and follow-up questions for your clients and your engineering team and iterate until it has produced the best product document you have seen in your life. Then give the product document to AI. The AI will come up with the best user experience that you can never think of. Then give the design and product document to AI. The AI will come up with an architecture, testing plan, migration plan and deploy plan. The AI will execute all these plans, just wait and watch. The AI will review the intermediate code. The AI will approve all the pull requests.
You just do the quality assurance and double check before you put the features in front of your clients.
The AI will come up with a feature flag plan and A/B testing and rollout. Just let it do its work. You are the person shoving the coal in the steam engine, the engine is already running.
Stop discussions and start listening to AI. Stop product document reviews. Stop design review. Stop architecture reviews. Stop code reviews.
Stop pretending you are reviewing anything. We all know we are just a medium so two AIs can talk to each other.
Let’s accept the fact that software development has fundamentally changed forever. Let’s accept our role in it as merely a human in the loop doing sanity checks. Let’s surrender.
